FALL INTO

As visual artists, we always try to focus on a psychological dimension. This video makes us ask ourselves how deep can our feelings go. How far can we breakdown? Emotions can also fall and collapse. But can a person fall into his own mind? The video portrays the way we found to answer the previous question.

This was a project to a brief of Mgnum's Two-day Professional Practice seminar, and I was selected to be part of it!

As a photographer, I approach my subject aiming to depict its psychological dimension. The photos are part of a series about how Portuguese teenagers go through these times of economical crisis and social changes. I describe their social and cultural context, their life expectations and the reality they have to face.

Uma loucura contornada com um bom comportamento, até que este falha. Não controlou e desistiu de o fingir. Não sabia como expressar a sua sede à liberdade e à conecção com a sua pessoa. Os seus sentimentos foram suprimidos pelo desconhecido.

A madness passed with good behavior, until it fails. Didn't control and gave up the pretense. Didn't know how to express the thirst for freedom and connection with itself. The feelings were suppressed by the unknown.
